This qualification is ideal for individuals aspiring to complete a bachelor’s degree in information technology or computing. The qualification has 3 specializations: (Level 5 Extended Diploma in Information Technology – Networking), (Level 5 Extended Diploma in Information Technology – Web Design) and (Level 5 Extended Diploma in Information Technology – E-commerce).
CREDIT EQUIVALENCY: 240 / DURATION: 24 MONTHS OR LESS
QUALIFICATION TITLE: Level 5 Extended Diploma in information technology (Equivalent to the 1st and 2nd years of a UK 3-year bachelor’s degree). Upon completion, learners are eligible to progress to a UK university for a 1-year BSc (Hons) top-up program.
OVERVIEW:
The rationale for the qualification is that it provides a career path for learners who wish to develop a broad base of knowledge and skills that will enable them to work in a variety of roles n the IT industry, notably in .NET programming, system administration and network security. Learners will also learn about entrepreneurship in a techno environment. The qualification is flexible in that it offers elective choices of networking, web design or e-commerce – the latter being much in demand in modern business.
